Kyle Malo

Sr. Director, Cybersecurity and CISO, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority

Kyle Malo is Senior Director of Cybersecurity and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).  As CISO, he leads cybersecurity strategy and execution for the nation’s second busiest transit system – a critical infrastructure system that supports over a million daily commuters.  WMATA’s current focus is on leveraging intelligence to drive larger risk-management strategies. 

Prior to joining WMATA, Mr. Malo served for nine years in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI), culminating as CISO, where he led enterprise, global, efforts to secure national security information – enabling the FBI’s domestic intelligence and law enforcement missions.  Mr. Malo served in the US Air Force for eight years, culminating as Chief of Intelligence Operations for an unmanned intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance group supporting global defensive missions.
